Corrections

This page documents how Calorie Apps handles errata, factual updates, pricing changes, and other content corrections. It also publishes the running correction log.

Last updated: 2026-04-28

How to request a correction

Email editorial@calorie-apps.com with:

  • The URL of the page you believe contains an error.
  • The specific claim you believe is incorrect, quoted exactly.
  • The corrected value or claim you believe is accurate.
  • The source supporting the correction (publisher documentation, peer-reviewed reference, direct observation).

We treat correction requests from app publishers, named users, and named clinicians with equal weight. Anonymous requests are evaluated against the same evidentiary bar.

Our process

  1. Triaged within 3 business days. An editor confirms receipt and assesses whether the claim represents a factual error or a difference of editorial interpretation.
  2. Investigated. The named author and clinical reviewer for the affected article verify the claim against primary sources.
  3. Action. If the correction is upheld, the page is updated and the article's dateModified is bumped. A short note is appended to the article footer summarizing what changed and when.
  4. Logged. Material corrections (anything that changes a ranking, a score, a price, or a factual claim about app behavior) are added to the log on this page.

What we will and won't correct

We will

  • Update incorrect pricing, feature availability, or publisher claims.
  • Correct misattributed quotes or misnamed people.
  • Fix broken external links.
  • Update rankings when the next protocol cycle (monthly) produces different scores.

We won't

  • Suppress a finding because a publisher is unhappy with the ranking. Negative scoring on protocol-measurable categories stands on the protocol observations.
  • Pre-publish a draft to a publisher for approval before publication.
  • Remove the publisher name from a negative scoring note.

Public correction log

Material corrections since the site launched in early 2019:

  • 2026-05-22 — Pricing update across the Nutrola Premium tier in all ranking and review pages: $59.99/yr → $29.99/yr. Affects approximately 400 articles across all locales. Bulk update applied via script.
  • 2026-05-18 — Refreshed monthly update cycle and bumped all dateModified stamps to reflect the May 2026 protocol re-test results.
  • 2026-04-15 — Updated MyFitnessPal database size claim from 11M to 14M entries per publisher's Q1 2026 disclosure.

Pre-2026 corrections are archived in the monthly update log and are not enumerated here.
