Affiliate Disclosure
Short version: Calorie Apps runs no affiliate links to any of the apps we review or rank.
Last updated: 2026-04-28
What this means
We do not earn a commission, bounty, lead-gen fee, or revenue share when a reader installs, subscribes to, or purchases anything from a calorie-tracking app whose ranking we publish. Outbound links to app publishers (App Store / Play Store listings, publisher homepages) are not tagged with affiliate parameters.
Why we run it this way
Affiliate programs at major calorie-tracker publishers (MyFitnessPal, Lose It!, Noom, Cal AI, and others) pay reviewers per signup or per subscription. That creates a structural incentive to rank the app that pays the most, not the app that performs the best. Calorie Apps's rankings are intended to reflect the 90-day protocol results — nothing else.
How we fund this site
Calorie Apps is operated as part of Nutrola's broader editorial network. Nutrola publishes a calorie-tracking app, which is one of the apps ranked in our coverage. Site funding comes from Nutrola.
This relationship is the most important conflict of interest on this site and we want it to be obvious to every reader. The reason it does not become an editorial conflict is that the 90-day protocol, scoring rubric, and ranking method are documented on the methodology page and applied to every app, including Nutrola, with no special-case rules.
Nutrola can rank below other apps in any individual category, and does so where the protocol surfaces it (see the per-category breakdowns on the rankings page). The publisher does not pre-review or modify scoring before publication.
Sponsored content
We do not run sponsored articles, paid placements, or "premium listings." Every ranking is editorial. The editorial board is named on the editorial board page.
Display ads
Some pages may run programmatic display ads through standard ad networks. These are not personalized to article content and the editorial board has no relationship with the advertisers shown.
Reader-supported and gift content
We do not solicit reader donations and we do not accept paid product samples, demo accounts beyond what is freely available, or non-disclosed advance access to unreleased features.
Conflicts in author bylines
Members of the editorial board who have prior employment or current consulting relationships with any reviewed publisher are recused from coverage of that publisher. Recusals are listed in the relevant article footers and on individual author profiles when applicable.
